The makers of fantasy role-playing game RavenQuest will launch the QUEST token on the gaming-focused Ethereum layer-2 network Immutable zkEVM on Wednesday.
Developed by Tavernlight Games, the free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game—or MMORPG—released for PC on March 14. Now the studio is launching RavenQuest’s native token to “fuel” its economy.
“QUEST is not waiting for a use case,” the game posted on X (formerly Twitter). “It plugs directly into a live game where utility isn’t a future promise, it’s reality.”

RavenQuest players will be able to earn QUEST for their in-game contributions and achievements, and make use of the token when maintaining land plots, enhancing and equipping abilities, and trading on the marketplace.
More uses for the token are expected soon as RavenQuest’s developers plan expansions and a mobile version of the MMORPG. The ecosystem may also implement potential token buybacks according to comments from Nicolas Schrik, Tavernlight’s founder and game director, on a recent livestream.
The game has gained popularity among gaming enthusiasts on streaming platform Twitch, where it racked up more than 1.2 million hours of viewing over the course of February, according to third-party analytics site TwitchTracker.
Unlike some other popular Web3 games, RavenQuest is not hosting a large-scale airdrop campaign for its QUEST token. However, the game will grant a small airdrop to reward participants across three playtests over the last 5 months, according to the game’s CMO Matt Welsh.
Updated tokenomics indicate that the token supply will be 1 billion, with the largest bucket of QUEST tokens—542.5 million or 54.25% of the tokens—earmarked for ecosystem rewards. The development team is allocated 125 million or 12.5% of the supply, subject to a four-month cliff and 50-month vesting period.
