The Ethereum Attackathon audit contest will leverage Immunefi’s elite security researcher community, who will compete in a time-boxed audit for rewards, recognition, and prestige.
The event marks the first collaborative effort of its kind, aspiring to be the largest-ever crowdsourced security audit for Ethereum’s entire protocol code. The Ethereum Attackathon audit contest features a time-bound code review program where top security researchers will identify vulnerabilities in the core protocol. Additionally, the event includes a comprehensive education program to upskill the security researcher community with Ethereum-related knowledge.

$500,000 Reward Pool to Attract Top Security Researchers and Sponsors
The Ethereum Foundation has contributed $500,000 to seed the Attackathon’s reward pool, encouraging developers and ecosystem projects to participate. The reward pool will compensate researchers and developers for identifying security issues and bugs. Sponsors who contribute to the pool will receive NFTs and recognition on the Sponsorship Leaderboard.
Funds will be deposited into the Attackathon vault on Immunefi, which transparently displays the allocation of program funds and streamlines payments between projects and security researchers. The sponsorship program will close, and the final reward pool will be locked by August 1, 2024.
