Plasma has recently revealed its collaboration with Ethena Labs, which is focused on making financial services that bear yield accessible across the globe. The integration brings Ethena’s stablecoin, the $USDe into Plasma’s ecosystem. $USDe is designed to allow its holders to obtain yield from various trading activities such as the basis trade and cash-and-carry arbitration.

Tether is utilized to implement Ethena’s trading strategy within the partnership. Recent trends show that 70% of perpetual futures trading volume is settled in USD₮. Ethena nets also ensure that the platform and the token always have continuous structural utility, keeping Tether relevant.
Tether serves as one of the primary tools within Ethena’s framework, contributing to the yield-generation mechanism of USDe while simultaneously encouraging more widespread adoption of USD₮ in DeFi. Plasma also assured that USDe will be available for use on Plasma from the initial launch of its mainnet beta. Ethena will come on board as a launch partner to allow the users to invest in yield-bearing stablecoins from within Plasma upon its launch.
