Wormhole, an interoperability platform that supports multi-chain applications and bridges at scale, announced the airdrop of its native token W.
According to the official statement, the upcoming airdrop of Wormhole’s native token W marks the next step in the decentralization of the protocol. W will have a supply of 10 billion tokens with an initial circulation supply of 1.8 billion and will be distributed across 5 initial chains in ERC20 and SPL formats: Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
The token will be allocated to six main categories: Guardian Nodes, Community and Launch, Core Contributors, Ecosystem and Incubation, Strategic Network Participants, and Foundation Treasury. The token will initially be 82% locked and will be unlocked within four years.
6.17% of the W supply (617,305,000) was allocated in the Community and Launch category in conjunction with this airdrop to 397,704 wallets following anti-sybil measures.
