Crossmint Raises $23.6 Million to Move Businesses to Blockchain
The world is increasingly moving to include blockchain technology, and companies like Crossmint have risen to address this situation. The startup has raised $23.6 million from powerhouses like Ribbit Capital, Franklin Templeton, NYCA, First Round, Lightspeed Faction, and HF0 to ease this process and include solutions that also allow artificial intelligence (AI) agents to act autonomously onchain.
Crossmint’s mission is to streamline the development of structures that can ease the transition of businesses and agents onchain, saving money and time for businesses on this path. For this, it has developed a series of low-level programming interfaces that facilitate the implementation of blockchain services, backed by a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license to support its push for compliance.
Among the use cases that Crossmint facilitates are the implementation of stablecoin finance for companies, embedding product passports to fight product forgery and counterfeiting, and the establishment of onchain loyalty programs for rewarding users.
But perhaps the most considerable feature in Crossmint’s arsenal is the construction of an AI agent-friendly ecosystem. While legacy systems try to keep AI out, Crossmint encourages and enables operations with these agents, understanding that in the future, they will be the primary participants of the financial system.
Crossmint claims that its GOAT SDK is now the most downloaded open-source library for connecting AI agents to blockchain protocols, with over 150,000 downloads over the past two months, a testament to the interest that this emerging use case awakens.
