The Cardano Foundation (CF) recently announced the blockchain’s expansion in Argentina, emphasizing its relevance in real-world adoption. According to the announcement, Cardano will utilize its blockchain to power digital authentication for social security and education in Argentina.
Cardano Liaise with Argentina for Blockchain Innovation
The recent development will see Cardano partnering with the Argentine government, including the Ministry of Labor and National Technological University. Cardano’s collaboration with Argentina demonstrates how blockchain enhances critical public services.
The Cardano Foundation highlighted several key public areas the collaboration will focus on. These include social security benefits authentication, student tracking, authentication of union records, and collaboration on a technological Hub in Entre Ríos.
Social Security benefits authentication will guarantee that workers with disabilities are certified for social security benefits. As regards education, Cardano’s partnership with Argentina will see the implementation of a system for tracking student attendance and performance through digital IDs.
This innovation seeks to enhance educational data management so development banks can get better funding distribution. Also, it would maximize the teaching and learning process, providing a conducive atmosphere for tutors and students.
Furthermore, Cardano and Argentina will support the creation of a new technological ecosystem in the Entre Ríos province. The collaboration will focus on the incorporation, education, and promotion of developers to build on Cardano and Aiken. Besides this, it would include the UTN to foster the development of businesses and solutions in the region.
Cardano Foundation’s CEO, Frederik Gregaard, commented, “Working alongside Argentina’s Ministry of Labor, the National Technological University, and the Province of Entre Ríos, with the support of major development banks.”
“It sets a powerful precedent for institutional adoption of blockchain, which can inspire similar initiatives across Latin America,” Gregaard added.
Cardano Expanding to Latin America
The Cardano Foundation, however, noted that the action initiatives are not limited to Argentina.
Notably, the Foundation said it is working to bring blockchain potential to Latin America. They highlighted collaborations with the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), the Development Bank of Latin America, and the Inter-American Development Bank.
The Foundation’s collaboration with Argentina and Latin America promotes Cardano’s adoption as a public digital infrastructure of the future. In an earlier CNF highlight, the Foundation pointed out Cardano’s utility across several industries to solve some pain points. One notable collaboration highlighted includes those with Veritree to bring transparency to reforestation.
While the Foundation seeks to improve the Cardano network’s adoption for real-world use cases, it faces intense scrutiny. Per a CNF update, Cardano’s Founder, Charles Hoskinson, demanded governance reforms within the Foundation.
The founder’s reform program will ensure community members participate in decision-making processes in the developed structure. He, therefore, urged a relocation to jurisdictions such as Abu Dhabi or Wyoming that promote community-driven board elections.
