Transactions by large investors who have been inactive for a long time in the cryptocurrency market continue to be closely monitored. On-chain analytics platform Onchain Lens reported that 730 $BTC were transferred from the wallet of a Bitcoin whale that had shown no activity for four years. The transfer, worth approximately $46.12 million at current market prices, attracted the attention of investors.
According to data shared by Onchain Lens, the Bitcoins in question were transferred to a newly created wallet. On-Chain records reveal that the investor had been accumulating these assets gradually over the past seven years, and the transferred Bitcoins had been held in the same address for a long time without any transactions.
Analysts believe this activity may be linked to the security vulnerability in the Coldcard hardware wallet that has recently come to light. It is suggested that long-term investors may have begun moving their assets to new, more secure wallets due to security concerns. However, there is no evidence so far that the transferred Bitcoins have been sent to any cryptocurrency exchange. Therefore, it is unclear whether the transaction was carried out for selling purposes or solely for security reasons.
The reactivation of wallets that have been inactive for a long time in the cryptocurrency market is seen as an important signal by investors. However, experts emphasize that transfers between wallets do not always mean selling and are often carried out for security, custody strategy, or institutional portfolio management purposes.
This development follows another large Bitcoin transfer that recently occurred. Previously, another Bitcoin whale, whose holdings had been inactive for about seven months, moved 16,400 $BTC, worth over $1 billion, to different addresses. These recent large-scale transfers indicate a renewed acceleration in fund movements, particularly among long-term investors.
