On May 29, 2025, Binance Academy and Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom launched a blockchain education initiative. The program will train 80,000 students and 300 educators across more than 20 universities nationwide.
The effort builds on Binance Academy’s existing presence in Pakistan. Since 2022, it has trained over 3,000 students from 13 universities across three provinces. With this new partnership, the scope will widen, offering structured blockchain education at the national level.
Educators will receive focused training and teaching resources. They will then pass on blockchain and Web3 skills to students through classroom instruction.
Curriculum to Include Web3 and Blockchain Skills
Binance Academy confirmed that this initiative expands its Global University Outreach Program (GUOP). Developed in partnership with the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC), GUOP aims to integrate blockchain training into university-level curricula.
As part of this program, the academy will provide localized course materials, professional certifications, and online learning tools. The goal is to help students gain practical knowledge that can be used in the tech industry.
Additionally, the program includes structured workshops, mentorship for professors, and curriculum design tailored to local academic standards.
By supporting both faculty and students, Binance Academy plans to build a skilled workforce equipped for blockchain-related careers.
Government Endorses Blockchain Training
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Pakistan’s Minister of IT and Telecom, voiced strong support for the initiative. She noted that the program aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s plan for a digitally advanced Pakistan.
“In line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a digitally empowered Pakistan, this partnership marks an important milestone in the country’s digital transformation,”
she said.
She added that the training would enhance Pakistan’s participation in the global tech economy. According to Khawaja, the collaboration helps build a secure framework for blockchain adoption while addressing local demand for tech skills.
Bader Al Kalooti, MEASA Head of Growth and Operations at Binance, emphasized that the collaboration prepares students for work in the digital economy. His comments appeared in Binance Academy’s official blog post announcing the partnership.
