Binance Founder Reveals Real Truth About Blockchain Amid Cloudflare Crash

The recent Cloudflare crash certainly left everyone confused. For those who missed it, an outage affected the American company Cloudflare, which provides a content delivery network (CDN), protection against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and secure access to resources and domain name system (DNS) servers.

The company confirmed that it is working to solve the sudden crash, with recovery efforts underway across the internet. Nevertheless, the global network outage hit multiple crypto front-ends, causing widespread disruption and putting more pressure on the digital assets market.

While everyone was busy trying to figure out what had happened, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the founder of Binance and one of the most notable figures in the crypto space, saw a “blessing in disguise,” stating in his latest X post that “blockchain kept working.”

While this statement may seem too simple, it is actually a good way to think about the technology. The Binance Smart Chain explorer site may stop working, Twitter may be unavailable and crypto mass media portals may stop generating content, but blockchain technology can generally run without centralized providers like Cloudflare.

True decentralization

Of course, there are many “ifs,” and the reliance of many blockchains on centralized cloud services such as Hertz or AWS is a subject for another major discussion.

But truly decentralized systems like Bitcoin can work without providers as long as computers continue to run the protocol and mine BTC. Bitcoin was designed to work even on radio waves, and for good reason.

Ultimately, in a world where everything seeks an “easy life” by relying on single centralized points, these points soon become “weak links,” and that is where real decentralized technology proves its supremacy.
