Berlin — When the world thinks of NFTs, many still picture the hype of 2021: skyrocketing prices, profile pics, and speculative frenzies. But in Berlin this November, Art on Tezos is staging a very different story.

—

Over 200 artists—from pioneers like Lauren Lee McCarthy and Kevin Abosch to experimental collectives like TeleNFT—are coming together for a three-day showcase that highlights how blockchain art has matured into genuine cultural practice.

Expect live on-chain performances, teletext experiments fresh off Ars Electronica, and immersive installations that show how art, technology, and community intersect on the Tezos blockchain.

Beyond the Hype

Art on Tezos: Berlin isn’t just another NFT expo. The event is structured as a cultural deep dive: more than a dozen exhibitors, including objkt (Tezos’s largest marketplace), Office Impart, Galerie Met, bitforms, and curatorial collective The Second-Guess, will present projects that reflect how artists are pushing blockchain as a medium—not just a marketplace.
“Art on Tezos: Berlin demonstrates what’s possible when artists, curators, collectors, and platforms come together with a shared vision. This event is not just about spotlighting individual works but mapping the possibilities of digital art.”

A Community That Grew from Grassroots

Tezos art culture began in 2021 with hic et nunc, a grassroots platform that allowed anyone to mint and sell NFTs. From there, ecosystems like objkt, teia, and IINK expanded the landscape, now home to over 100,000 artists worldwide. Partnerships with cultural institutions including Art Basel, Serpentine, and Musée d’Orsay have further reinforced Tezos’s role as a hub for experimental art.

What to Expect in Berlin

200+ Artists: From internationally recognized names to emerging creators.
Guided Tours & Performances: Including a site-specific piece by Berlin-based artist allapopp.
TeleNFT Showcase: A live teletext art experiment captured directly on-chain.
Cross-Cultural Exchange: A bridge between online blockchain-native communities and offline cultural audiences.

The event underscores how blockchain has shifted from a speculative trend into a tool for sustainability, collaboration, and artistic freedom—helping creators reach global audiences without gatekeepers.
